However, Trump expressed his disappointment with President Xi Jinping’s speech, specifically regarding the absence of any acknowledgment of the United States’ role in assisting China during its independence struggles. Trump stated his belief that the U.S. should have been recognized for its significant contributions. The parade, which displayed China’s growing military power, featured new military technologies and was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. Xi Jinping affirmed China’s commitment to peaceful development and described the nation as ‘invincible’. Before the parade, Trump had accused Xi Jinping of conspiring against the U.S. Trump also mentioned his good relations with the leaders and that it wouldn’t have been proper for him to attend. He also expressed a desire for recognition of America’s part in China’s history.
