The Chhattisgarh Transport Department is cautioning citizens regarding fraudulent e-challans and urging them to make all vehicle-related payments only through the official website. This warning is in response to incidents of deception where vehicle owners were sent fake messages or emails demanding payment. The department has stated that payments should not be made through unauthorized websites, links, or apps. To verify a genuine challan, vehicle owners are advised to use the “Pay Online” option on the departmental portal. By entering their vehicle number and the last four digits of either their chassis or engine number, individuals can access the complete details of the challan and proceed with secure online payment. The department has clarified that all e-challans issued by the police and transport departments are exclusively available on the official portal. People are advised not to trust any suspicious calls, messages, or links and to report any suspected fraud to the nearest police station or the transport department.
