A significant cabinet reshuffle has been announced in British politics after the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has implemented wide-ranging changes within the cabinet, allocating new duties to many senior members.
Yvette Cooper has been appointed to the position of Foreign Minister, taking over from David Lammy. Consequently, David Lammy will now serve as Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister.
In a related move, Shabana Mahmood, previously the Justice Minister, has been named Home Minister. The Home Minister’s role includes the management of key policy areas such as illegal migration; this position was previously occupied by Yvette Cooper.
