The Uttarakhand government, under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has focused on youth employment, achieving a milestone of 25,000 government job selections in four years. Appointment letters were recently handed to 15 assistant teachers for the Government Ashram Method Schools of the Tribal Welfare Department. Since July 4, 2021, the Dhami administration has been dedicated to providing employment and enhancing skills among young people. Over 25,000 permanent jobs have been secured through the Public Service Commission, Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission, and the Medical Services Selection Commission. Additional recruitment drives are in progress, promising further employment opportunities. The government’s Chief Minister Skill Development and Global Employment Scheme, launched on November 9, 2022, provides training in hospitality, nursing, and automobile fields, facilitating international employment in countries like Germany and Japan. The scheme has trained 154 youth, with 37 now employed in Japan. In 2024, the Dhami government introduced a strong anti-cheating law, preventing exam paper leaks and leading to the imprisonment of over 100 individuals involved in related misconduct.
