The debut film ‘Songs of Forgotten Trees’ directed by Anuparna Roy has won the Orizzonti Award for Best Director at the 82nd Venice Film Festival. The synopsis highlights Thooya, an aspiring actress, and Swetha, who works in a corporate setting. The two women, who come from different backgrounds, find unexpected intimacy within the city.
