Raipur, September 07, 2025/ The soul of Indian culture resides in Sanskrit, which gives us a unique identity on the world stage. The Sanskrit language is the foundation of grammar, philosophy and science, which promotes logical thinking. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said this while addressing the Virat Sanskrit Vidvat-Sammelan organized at the Sarayuparin Brahmin Sabha Bhavan located in Sanjay Nagar, Raipur today.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Sanskrit education is relevant and useful even in the modern era. Sanskrit language and literature are the basis of our heritage, which we should preserve and enhance.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that along with the discussion on Devvani Sanskrit, this conference is a great effort to strengthen Indian culture, values and the nation. Chief Minister Shri Sai appreciated the efforts being made by Sanskrit Bharati Chhattisgarh and Sarayuparin Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh for the preservation and promotion of Sanskrit language and congratulated and wished them well.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that including the Sanskrit language in modern education will ensure the intellectual development of the students. Sanskrit has a vast storehouse of texts like Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas, which give the message of philosophy, science and life values. Ayurveda, mathematics and astrology described in the Vedas are still relevant today and can be a subject of research. The principles of karma, knowledge and devotion are clearly stated in these texts, which can bring peace and balance in modern life. In such a situation, Sanskrit education is equally relevant and useful in the modern era.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that by adopting the knowledge of the Vedas and Upanishads, we can enrich our lives along with preserving our heritage. He said that we have to encourage the youth to connect with Sanskrit literature so that they can take this knowledge to the new generation.
The Chief Minister also said that Sanskrit education can be made attractive and relevant through technology. Concrete steps can be taken in this direction with the active participation of Sanskrit scholars and teachers in the state. He urged that through this conference, we should resolve to promote Sanskrit Vidya and connect the next generation.
In the program, Chief Minister Shri Sai also released the publicity pamphlet of Sarayuparin Brahmin Sabha, Chhattisgarh. The Virat Sanskrit Vidvat-Sammelan was organized under the joint auspices of Sanskrit Bharati Chhattisgarh and Sarayuparin Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh.
Addressing the conference, Dr. Dadu Bhai Tripathi, Provincial President of Sanskrit Bharati, said that there are many evidences in history which prove that Sanskrit was once prevalent as the language of the people. Chhattisgarhi language has a direct relationship with Sanskrit. Many verbs of Panini’s grammar are directly used in Chhattisgarhi. He also told that the maximum number of tribal students in Sarguja region are receiving education in Sanskrit.
Chief Minister Shri Sai honored individuals who have made significant contributions in various fields of Sarayuparin Brahmin Samaj in the program. These included Dr. Ashlesha Shukla, a rheumatologist, Shri Anant Dwivedi, an excellent swimmer, and Prof. Sachchidanand Shukla, Vice Chancellor of Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University.
The conference was also addressed by Dandi Swami Dr. Indubhavanand Maharaj, Dr. Suresh Shukla, President of Sarayuparin Brahmin Sabha Chhattisgarh, and Dr. Shriram Mahadev, Head of All India Sanskrit Bharati Teaching. On this occasion, a large number of Sanskrit teachers, social representatives and dignitaries including Dr. Satendra Singh Sengar, Shri Ajay Tiwari, Shri Badrprasad Gupta were present.
