Chhattisgarh is leading the charge in solar energy adoption, with the aim of providing free electricity to its residents. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized this vision at a recent solar energy awareness and promotion event. The event saw the launch of the Surya Rath, designed to spread awareness about solar energy and the government’s schemes. Additionally, subsidies were distributed to numerous consumers. Sai also highlighted the progress made in electrification across the country through the Saubhagya Yojana. He pointed out the substantial increase in Chhattisgarh’s electricity production capacity, rising from 1,400 MW in 2000 to 30,000 MW today, with the state now supplying electricity to neighboring regions. He also mentioned the significant investments being made in the energy sector under the new industrial policy, with MOUs worth Rs 3.50 lakh crore already signed.
