The Ganga Expressway, a significant undertaking connecting Meerut and Prayagraj, is approaching its final stages of construction. The project in the Hasanpur tehsil of the Amroha district is largely complete. Current efforts are focused on the remaining finishing work, with the expectation that the expressway will be open to the public within the coming month. The completion date for the 23.60 km stretch in Hasanpur was originally set for October 12, 2025; however, the essential infrastructure, including road construction, lighting, and drainage pipelines, has already been completed. Key features of the expressway include an overbridge and T-point on the Hasanpur-Rahra road in Mangrola, complemented by four toll plazas. The bridge spanning the Ganga River in Pandapur has also been finished. Officials report that pending finishing work was temporarily halted due to rain and will be finalized within the next month. The anticipated opening of the 594 km-long Ganga Expressway, linking Meerut and Prayagraj, is scheduled for November. This expressway will dramatically reduce the travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj, making it easier for Amroha residents and devotees traveling to the Tigri fair. It will also provide improved access to the Sangam bath for residents of Meerut, Hapur, and Amroha. Furthermore, it will allow lawyers and litigants from western Uttar Pradesh to conveniently reach the Prayagraj High Court and return home the same day.
