Chhattisgarh is committed to becoming Naxal-free. Security forces are engaged in continuous operations following instructions from the central and state governments. The Naxal organization appears to be feeling the effects of these successful operations, now showing interest in peace negotiations.
A letter attributed to the Naxal organization’s central spokesperson, Abhay, has gained traction on social media. The letter indicates that the group is open to discussions, provided the government declares a ceasefire.
The letter also claims that the party has been seriously pursuing peace talks since March 2025, while the government has intensified its operations since January 2024. Abhay also mentions that 28 members of the central committee, including General Secretary Baswaraju, were killed in a significant encounter in Gundekot, Mad area, on May 21.
As stated in the letter, the organization has chosen to move forward with the incomplete peace process and will work with political groups and other organizations on public issues, setting aside armed conflict.
