Vishal Soni, the son of BJP leader Mahesh Soni, was apprehended in connection with a calculated plan to avoid a ₹1.40 crore loan in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh. Soni staged his own ‘death’ by reporting a drowning in the Kalisindh River. This led to a ten-day search by officials and rescue teams across a 20-km area. During this period, Soni was in hiding, concealed in Maharashtra. Further complicating the investigation, a false kidnapping report was filed with the Fardapur police station. Ultimately, Soni admitted to the deception upon his arrest. The investigation began when his car was found in the Kalisindh River on September 5th, prompting the wide-ranging search.
