The film ‘Jolly LLB’ which starred Arshad Warsi was a major hit in 2013. It earned a remarkable 19.45 crore in its opening weekend. The success of the film led to Arshad Warsi reprising his role in ‘Jolly LLB 3’ along with Akshay Kumar. However, the lead role was originally offered to Shreyas Talpade. Talpade recalls meeting director Subhash Kapoor and hearing the story, but he was committed to other projects. Years later, after the film’s release, he contacted the director to congratulate him, unaware that he had been offered the part initially.
