The sacred period of Navratri is observed four times a year. Two are open observances and two are hidden. The Sharadiya Navratri, which falls during the Shukla Paksha of the Ashwin month, is a significant event during which the nine forms of Goddess Durga are revered. This year, Sharadiya Navratri commences on a Monday, with the arrival of Maa Durga on an elephant, considered a harbinger of good fortune.

It is believed that during Navratri, the Goddess descends to the earthly realm to bestow blessings upon her devotees. Let’s explore the start and schedule of this year’s Navratri.

    Farewell:
The Sharadiya Navratri will conclude on Vijayadashami, which falls on October 2, 2025, a Thursday. The departure of Goddess Durga will be marked by a palanquin, which is a symbol of prosperity and happiness.

    Important Dates and Auspicious Times:
The Pratipada Tithi of the Shukla Paksha of the Ashwin month begins on September 22 at 1:23 AM and ends on September 23 at 2:55 AM. Hence, Sharadiya Navratri starts on September 22, with Ghatasthapana taking place on the same day.

Auspicious Time for Ghatasthapana: The Shubh Muhurat for Ghatasthapana is from 6:08 AM to 8:06 AM. The Abhijit Muhurat will be from 11:49 AM to 12:38 PM.

Navami Details: Navami Tithi begins on September 30 at 6:06 PM and ends on October 1 at 7:01 PM. Mahanavami will be celebrated on October 1, with Kanya Pujan being performed on the same day.
