According to a report, payments for ‘entry-level’ positions under H-1B are 36% lower compared to regular employees. Companies shut down their IT branches, lay off American employees, and assign IT jobs to foreign employees to take advantage of lower labor costs. The order also states that a higher number of low-wage employees in the H-1B program weakens the program’s credibility and harms the wages and employment opportunities of American workers, especially at the entry level, in industries where such low-wage H-1B employees are concentrated.
