The court has strongly criticized the police’s response to a recent incident involving car stunts on Masturi Road, ordering that the 18 vehicles seized by the police not be released without court approval. The Chief Justice expressed concerns regarding perceived bias in police actions, noting that the force often appears more aggressive towards the poor, middle class, and Dalits, while showing leniency towards those with wealth or influence. The court questioned why the police have not filed more serious charges against the offenders. The court has directed the Chief Secretary of the Chhattisgarh government to file an affidavit detailing the steps taken against those involved. The court has adjourned the case until September 23, 2025. The incident involved young individuals performing stunts while driving, risking the safety of other road users.
