Saudi Arabia and France collaborated to host a summit at the United Nations, focusing on resolving the Israeli-Palestinian dispute. This meeting followed the state recognition of Palestine by nations such as the United Kingdom, France, and others, reflecting ongoing diplomatic attempts to halt Israel’s offensive in Gaza.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Foreign Minister, used the opportunity to advocate for global recognition of the State of Palestine, applauding France’s decision. At the summit, aimed at the implementation of a two-state solution, Prince Faisal stated, “We encourage all countries to follow suit, as it will profoundly influence the efforts towards a two-state solution.” Prince Faisal explained that France and other nations’ historic stance demonstrates the international community’s desire to deliver justice to the Palestinian people. Saudi Arabia is keen on translating the summit’s outcomes into action, especially ending the war in Gaza. He also repeated Saudi Arabia’s stance on the establishment of East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine, based on the 1967 borders.

Macron, while speaking at the high-level international conference focused on the two-state solution, underlined the need for Israel and Palestine to live peacefully. Macron condemned the ongoing Israeli military actions in Gaza that seek the destruction of Hamas.
