School Education: Three and a half million classes online in lockdown, 29 million views on webportal
Raipur. School Education: During the lockdown in Chhattisgarh, three and a half lakh classes were organized in the ‘Shiksha Tunhar Duar’ campaign started by the government to provide education to students from Bastar to Surguja. Also, the text content on the web portal has received over 29 crore page views. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reviewed the campaign on Wednesday. Chief Minister Baghel said that in view of the lack of internet and Android mobile facilities in rural and remote forest areas of the state, ‘Pachhai Tunhar Para’ and ‘Bultu’ (Bluetooth) education system was also started for offline education. Education efforts including the Prime Minister and NITI Aayog have been appreciated by the government.
Principal Secretary of School Education Department, Dr. Alok Shukla informed that under the program, two lakh two thousand 45 teachers and 23 lakh 13 thousand 130 students have been registered. So far, three lakh 69 thousand 672 classes have been taken online in the state. More than 45 thousand teachers participated. Under providing offline education, 31 thousand 792 reading materials have been uploaded so far.
Homework is also given in the Padhai Tunhar Duar program. So far, one lakh 50 thousand 743 homework has been duly investigated by the teachers. In the remote village of Vananchal, where internet facility is not available, there is a class of educated school to provide education to the villages. 22 thousand 771 teachers and education partners are contributing. Seven lakh 60 thousand 950 students are benefiting from this. Two thousand 241 schools are being operated by four thousand 237 teachers in paros and mohallas through loudspeakers in the state.
English medium schools will get funds from DMF
Chief Minister Baghel said that in no case should the quality of education in government English medium schools be inferior to that of private English medium schools. This will be the criterion on its success. Due to the demand of parents and children and the enthusiasm of the local administration, this number has now increased to 51. It is intended to start the Government English Medium School in all 146 block headquarters in the state from the upcoming education session.
Principal Secretary Dr. Alok Shukla gave information about deputation of principals and recruitment of teachers, including works for infrastructure development. 27 thousand 741 blocks have been admitted in schools and online classes have started. Infrastructure work is being done at a speed of 128 crores. He stated the need for 81 crore for infrastructure development. The Chief Minister requested to make this amount available from the DMF item. A similar dress, badge, mono of all the 51 English Medium schools was also discussed.
