In a tragic incident in the Kadma area of East Singhbhum, Malti Kumari, 28, ended her life while live-streaming on social media from her home, located at quarter number 16/19 in the Form Area, on Friday. At the time of the incident, her husband was at work and the couple’s children were attending school. Preliminary reports suggest that she used a scarf to hang herself from a ceiling fan. The live video showed Malti blaming her husband, Sahdev Yadav, for their marital problems and the daily suffering she had endured. Family members immediately took her to TMH, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. Malti and Sahdev Yadav had been married since 2013 and had two children. Sahdev Yadav works as a contract worker for Tata Steel. Malti was originally from Giridih, while her in-laws lived in Koderma; she resided with her husband and children in Kadma. Based on the evidence from the live video, Kadma police detained the husband on Saturday for investigation. After a post-mortem examination, the body was given to the family. The entire event has left the family and local community deeply shaken.
