The Navratri celebrations in the village of Dhaura Bhata, within the Arjuni police station jurisdiction of Dhamtari district, have been disrupted by a tragic incident. Vinod Kumar, who was the priest at the Durga Pandal, died by suicide. On Friday afternoon, he left the pandal and went to a nearby house. When he did not return, villagers went searching and found Vinod hanging, suspended by a gamcha. The event has cast a pall of sadness over the village, transforming the festive atmosphere into one of sorrow. Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination at Dhamtari District Hospital and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the suicide. The cause remains unclear, leaving the entire village in a state of shock and mourning.
