United States Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick commented on trade relations, stating that India should respond appropriately to the US, urging the country to open its markets and cease actions that negatively impact the US. He included other nations like Switzerland and Brazil in this assessment. Lutnick acknowledged that such issues would require time to resolve, and countries, including India, must understand that gaining access to the US market requires aligning with the President. He made these comments during a News Nation interview. An Indian delegation, led by the Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, visited the US to strengthen trade ties and investment. The delegation engaged in productive discussions with US officials, including Ambassador Jamieson Greer and Sergio Gor, the US Ambassador-designate to India. Both sides agreed to continue engagements to conclude a trade agreement benefiting both countries.
