Following discussions at the White House, President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the status of the ‘Gaza Peace Plan.’ Trump indicated that a peace agreement is near. He stated that Muslim and Arab nations are in favor of peace in the Middle East and are participating in the plan. Trump mentioned the involvement of countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, based on discussions with their leaders. Earlier, Trump received Prime Minister Netanyahu at the White House. On his social media, Trump had projected confidence about a significant breakthrough in the Middle East, citing unprecedented support for the deal. The U.S. has put forth a 21-point peace plan to address the Gaza conflict. This comes amidst ongoing deadlock in talks between Israel and Hamas, following Israeli airstrikes. It also follows international pressure to end the war, which started on October 7, 2023, after the Hamas attack. The Gaza health ministry reports that more than 66,000 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Israel’s bombardment of the enclave.
