A gruesome act of violence has shaken Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, where a man murdered his friend, driven by a desire to gain power through tantric practices. The accused offered his friend alcohol before taking him to his house and brutally killing him by slitting his throat. The victim, identified as Ajay, or Jhatu, was killed in the Gadabasa area, under the Golmuri police station. Sandeep Kumar, the accused, has been arrested. Local residents immediately informed the police, who took the injured Ajay to Tata Medical Hospital, where he was declared dead. A thorough investigation is underway. Sandeep Kumar, seeking to gain powers through tantric rituals, plotted with his friend Ajay, and lured him to his house. He then gave him alcohol before committing the murder at midnight. Ajay and Sandeep were colleagues and were known to be friends. The incident reveals Sandeep’s deep-seated belief in tantric practices. This act of violence during Navratri has raised concerns within the community. The Jharkhand region has seen other similar incidents rooted in superstition. One such instance in Chatra district saw the brutal murder of a man suspected of practicing witchcraft.
