Chikkamagaluru Police in Karnataka have arrested two individuals from Telangana for running a fraudulent operation involving fake websites impersonating renowned temples. The suspects were involved in a multi-crore scam, tricking devotees by setting up bogus websites in the name of prominent temples like Sringeri and Annapoorneshwari. The investigation showed that the fraud revolved around offering special pujas and Prasad to the devotees. Following a series of complaints, the police took action and arrested the two individuals. The arrested individuals, Sudeep and Anil Kumar, residents of Telangana, ran the scam through a fake website named www.Devaseva.com. The police are currently investigating how they carried out the fraud, identifying other people involved in the scam, and where the money from the fraud went. At the same time, the police have appealed to the devotees to be careful and verify information from the official website of the temples before making online payments for special pujas, Prasad, or any service.
