A rescue operation is ongoing Sunday to assist nearly one thousand people trapped on the Tibetan side of Mount Everest following a blizzard. The area, located above 4,900 meters, is experiencing blocked routes due to significant snowfall. Hundreds of local residents and rescue personnel are working to clear the passages.

Some tourists have been rescued. The snowfall commenced on Friday evening and grew more intense in the eastern section of Mount Everest in Tibet. This particular part of the mountain attracts numerous climbers. Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world, exceeding 8,849 meters in height, and is also referred to as Mount Qomolangma in China.
