Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Participates in Workshop on Tribal Pride Day
Raipur October 8, 2025// Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in and inaugurated the Tribal Pride Day workshop organized at the Convention Hall, Civil Lines, in the capital Raipur.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that last year too, the Tribal Pride Day workshop was successfully organized in the same auditorium, which was celebrated with enthusiasm across the state. Union Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya had participated in a 10-kilometer long padyatra organized in Jashpur, where traditional attire, cuisine, jewelry, and culture of the tribal society were attractively displayed. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi appreciated this initiative and said that such events should be organized annually across the country.
The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi honored the glorious heritage of tribal heroes by deciding to celebrate Tribal Pride Day on the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. Mentioning the contribution of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said that he took a historic step towards the respect and upliftment of the tribal society by forming the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for the first time.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, development work is progressing rapidly in Chhattisgarh under the PM Janman Yojana and Prime Minister Dharti Abba Gram Utkarsh Yojana. Under the Janman Yojana, 2,500 kilometers of roads have been constructed and 32,000 Prime Minister’s houses have been approved in the state.
He informed that a Tribal Museum has been constructed in Naya Raipur based on the lives of 14 tribal rebellions of Chhattisgarh and the immortal martyr Veer Narayan Singh, which is a major initiative of our government towards preserving the heritage of tribal history and pride. The Chief Minister urged academicians and intellectuals to include tribal pride and history in the academic curriculum, so that the new generation can draw inspiration from the rich heritage of their ancestors.
Minister for Higher Education Shri Tankram Verma said that this workshop will prove to be a milestone in highlighting the rich traditions and history of our tribal society and in tackling future challenges. Its aim is to formulate concrete strategies for the upliftment of the tribal society and to connect them with education, health, livelihood, and employment.
Minister for Primitive Caste Development and Agriculture Shri Ram Vichar Netam said that the outline of this workshop will be prepared by all you intellectuals, and the state government will take concrete steps in that direction. He said that last year Tribal Pride Day was successfully organized in almost all the districts of the state, and this year efforts will be made to celebrate it more effectively and grandly.
Minister for Forest and Climate Change Shri Kedar Kashyap said that more than 70,000 people participated in the Tribal Pride Day program organized last year. This event sent a message across the country that Chhattisgarh has worked to bring the upliftment of the tribal society to every household. Due to our great tribal heroes, we have received this rich heritage, which is our collective responsibility to preserve.
General Secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram Shri Yogesh Bapat said that the tribal society is a self-reliant society, and it is our duty to re-establish its pride. He said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is particularly dedicated to the upliftment of the tribal society. He urged that concrete plans should be prepared through this workshop that will help in further elevating the pride and self-respect of the tribal society.
On this occasion, Secretary of the Higher Education Department Dr. S. Bharidasan, Commissioner of Primitive Caste Development Department Dr. Saransh Mittar, Director of Employment and Training Shri Vijay Dayaram K., Vice-Chancellors of various universities, Principals of leading colleges, and representatives of various institutions were present.
