Narayanpur-Abujhmad to be connected with Maharashtra by National Highway 130-D

NH-130-D will be constructed from Kutul to Nilangur Maharashtra border

Government continuously striving to accelerate development in Naxal-affected areas – Chief Minister Shri Sai

Raipur, October 9, 2026/ The construction of National Highway 130-D, which connects the Bastar region with Maharashtra, has gained new momentum. The Chhattisgarh government has completed the tender process for the construction of the 21.5-kilometer stretch from Kutul to Nilangur (Maharashtra border). Instructions have been given by the Public Works Department Ministry to the Chief Engineer, National Highways Circle, Raipur, to complete the process of awarding the contract, including conditions, to the contractor who submitted the lowest tender for the construction of this road. The lowest tender rate received for the construction of the 21.5-kilometer road, to be built in three phases, is approximately Rs 152 crore, which has been approved by the Chhattisgarh government.

It is noteworthy that Kutul is located in the Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district, and the distance from Kutul to Nilangur, located on the Maharashtra border, is 21.5 kilometers. This is a part of National Highway 130-D. The construction of this road will be done with two-lane paved shoulders.

It is notable that NH-130D is a national highway, with a total length of approximately 195 kilometers. It is a spur route of NH-30. It starts from Kondagaon and goes through Narayanpur, Kutul to Nilangur (Maharashtra border). Further in Maharashtra, it reaches Alapalli via Bingunda, Lahre, Dhodraj, Bhamargarh, Hema, Lakasa, where it connects with NH-353D. With the development of this route, the Bastar region will be directly connected to the national highway network, and trade, tourism, and security will be greatly strengthened.

The approximately 50 km stretch of National Highway 130-D from Kondagaon to Narayanpur is under construction. The distance from Narayanpur to Kutul is 50 km, and from there to Nilangur on the Maharashtra border is 21.5 km. The total length of this national highway is 195 km, out of which approximately 122 km falls within the Chhattisgarh state, from Kondagaon-Narayanpur to Kutul via Nilangur. Once this road is built, the Bastar region will get a direct and strong road connection with Maharashtra, and safe and smooth traffic facilities will be available in Naxal-affected areas.

With the cooperation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, forest clearance and construction permission were obtained for the part of this National Highway located in the Abujhmad area, opening the way for the construction of this ambitious project. National Highway 130-D is not just a road but a path to the progress of the Bastar region. Our government has made continuous efforts to expedite this project. The people of Bastar will directly benefit from this road. This road will not only connect Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra but will also play an important role in the social and economic development of the Bastar region. This project will prove to be a milestone in accelerating development in Naxal-affected areas.
