    Chief Minister transferred Rs 84.66 crore of stipends and scholarships online to the accounts of 1.98 lakh students

    New facility for students from ST, SC, OBC, minority and economically weaker sections

    Students studying in technical and professional courses will also now receive scholarships online

    In the new system, the amount will be transferred in the months of June, September, October, and December

    Raipur, October 10, 2025/ On the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai, stipends and scholarships for students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Minorities, and Economically Weaker Sections studying in educational institutions, ashram-hostels, and technical and professional courses in the state are now being paid online to their bank accounts. Chief Minister Mr. Sai today transferred Rs 84.66 crore of stipends and scholarships online to the bank accounts of 1.98 lakh students from these categories during a program organized at Mantralaya, Mahanadi Bhawan.

    Principal Secretary Mr. Sonmani Bora informed that under the new system for pre-matric, post-matric scholarships, and stipend payments, online payments will be made to students in the months of June, September, October, and December. This initiative will alleviate the financial problems faced by students during their academic studies. Earlier, scholarships and stipends were provided to students once a year in December and February-March.

    Principal Secretary Mr. Bora stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Sai, these continuous efforts towards good governance have made the governance and administration more accountable and transparent compared to the past. Mr. Bora informed that today, under the hands of Chief Minister Mr. Sai, the second installment of stipends amounting to Rs 79 crore 27 lakh was transferred to the bank accounts of 1,86,050 students from ashram-hostels, and Rs 5 crore 38 lakh 81 thousand to 12,142 students for post-matric scholarships.

    Principal Secretary Mr. Bora mentioned that the online payment of stipends and scholarships to students was first initiated by Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai on June 10, 2025. An innovative initiative was taken by releasing a total amount of Rs 85 crore, including the first installment of stipends amounting to Rs 77 crore for all pre-matric hostels and ashrams operating in the state before the commencement of the academic session, and Rs 8.93 crore as the first installment of mess allowance for students studying in post-matric hostels. Furthermore, in the second phase, on June 17, 2025, scholarship amounts totaling Rs 6.2 crore were transferred online to 8370 students.

    Present on this occasion were Minister for Tribal Development Mr. Ram Vichar Netam, Minister for Forest and Climate Change Mr. Kedar Kashyap, Health Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Finance Minister Mr. O.P. Chaudhary, Revenue Minister Mr. Tankram Verma, School Education Minister Mr. Gajendra Yadav, Minister for Scheduled Caste Development Guru Khushwant Saheb, Tourism Minister Mr. Rajesh Agarwal, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Subodh Singh, and Commissioner of Tribal, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class, and Minority Welfare Department Dr. Saransh Mittar.
