Work on time by strictly adhering to the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India in all departments.
Treat voters with courtesy and pay full attention to their convenience – K. Ravi Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer.

Ghatshila. Chief Electoral Officer Mr. K. Ravi Kumar said that every booth in Ghatshila will function as a model booth. Ensure that all Assured Minimum Facilities are made available to voters at polling stations in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. Mr. K. Ravi Kumar was reviewing the arrangements for the 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly by-election with senior officials in the Ghatshila sub-divisional auditorium.

The Chief Electoral Officer stated that the election work must be carried out with zero error. The Election Commission of India has made detailed rules for every aspect of polling, and modules and SOPs are in place for every task. All officials must ensure strict compliance with these guidelines for the execution of their duties.

Mr. K. Ravi Kumar said that to make the election process error-free and speed up the polling process, ensure training of officials in accordance with the prepared guidelines. Pay special attention to cases of violation of the Model Code of Conduct on social media. For this, hold a meeting with the social media representatives of the candidates and provide them with point-wise information on the do’s and don’ts of the Model Code of Conduct.

The Chief Electoral Officer has said that for more than 40% of disabled voters or willing voters above 85 years of age in the by-election, arrangements should be made for them to vote from home through the Saksham app on ECInet or through the BLO, after ascertaining their wishes. For those disabled and senior voters who wish to go to the polling station to vote, make sure to arrange for vehicles, wheelchairs, ramps, volunteers, and assistants for their transportation.

Mr. K. Ravi Kumar said that the Election Commission of India has made changes in the ballot papers for EVMs for the convenience of voters. Accordingly, the EVMs will now display candidates’ colored photos along with their names and serial numbers in large letters. Work in accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India for this.

The Chief Electoral Officer said that the main objective of the SVEEP program is to increase the voting percentage by educating and motivating voters. Identify polling stations with low voting percentages in previous elections within the Ghatshila Assembly constituency and conduct special SVEEP programs to make voters aware.
