A legislator has formally requested the Chief Minister to intervene and pressure the Union government to expedite the extradition of notorious gangster Mohammad Haider Ali, widely known as Prince Khan, who is reportedly residing in Dubai. The MLA cited official correspondence indicating that while the Jharkhand Home Department initiated the extradition request in October 2023, and the Indian government issued necessary directives, the process has inexplicably stalled for over two years. The absence of the gangster has emboldened him, leading to a dangerous expansion of his criminal activities beyond Dhanbad to major cities like Jamshedpur, Ranchi, and Bokaro. Local merchants and physicians have come forward with harrowing accounts of receiving extortion calls demanding substantial sums, accompanied by threats of violence and intimidation from Prince Khan’s associates. The legislator had previously raised this grave concern in the state assembly, receiving promises of swift action to extradite the criminal and dismantle his network. The failure to deliver on these promises has allowed Prince Khan’s reign of terror to grow, severely impacting the sense of security and economic well-being of citizens, particularly in the business and medical communities.
