Festivities commenced with the temple adorned in a spectacular display of colorful lights, reflecting the deep enthusiasm of the district’s devotees. This cherished tradition began in 1967 under the patronage of the late Gangadhar Samanta, a celebrated mica merchant and philanthropist, and has been observed without interruption since. The puja involved meticulous religious ceremonies and a spiritually uplifting ‘havan’, drawing a large number of participants, including a significant contingent of women. The temple’s historical significance and aesthetic appeal enhanced the sacred atmosphere. The event saw the participation of many community leaders and notable personalities, underscoring the enduring faith and cultural importance of this long-standing puja.
