An alarming fire incident occurred late Sunday night in the Ghodabandha area of East Singhbhum, resulting in the incineration of multiple vehicles. The fire originated from a car parked outside an Ola Service Center and rapidly spread, engulfing other vehicles in the vicinity. The intense flames prompted residents to evacuate their dwellings and attempt to extinguish the fire using available means. Upon receiving the information, fire tenders and police personnel rushed to the location. A strenuous firefighting operation commenced, continuing until late night, before the fire was finally brought under control. The incident has ignited widespread public anger. Residents are alleging that Tapas Das, the owner of the Ola Service Center, has illegally designated forest department land and roadside areas as a parking zone, reportedly in complicity with the company. They express frustration that despite numerous prior complaints to the forest department and administrative authorities, no action was taken to address the illegal parking. The presence of a transformer directly opposite the parking area was a significant concern, as residents feared a potential explosion and substantial casualties if the fire had reached it.
