The Indian women’s cricket team has achieved unparalleled success by winning the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. As congratulatory messages pour in from across the country, fans are keen to know when a public celebration, potentially a victory parade, will take place. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that formal plans are still under consideration and will be decided upon the return of its officials from important international meetings.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that no victory parade is currently planned. The board’s leadership will convene to discuss celebration strategies after their delegation returns from Dubai, where they will participate in ICC meetings scheduled between November 4th and 7th. Official decisions regarding a felicitation event or parade are expected post their return.

A noteworthy agenda item for the BCCI in Dubai will be addressing the missing Asia Cup trophy, which has yet to be officially presented to the national team. This will be raised with the ICC during their discussions.

The path to victory culminated on November 2nd at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where India defeated South Africa by 52 runs. India posted a commanding 298 for 7 batting first. Key performances included an explosive 87 from Shafali Verma, who proved instrumental after coming in as an injury replacement, alongside valuable contributions from Smriti Mandhana (45), Deepti Sharma (52), and Richa Ghosh (34 off just 24 deliveries).

South Africa’s captain Laura Wolvaardt fought valiantly with a century, but India’s formidable bowling attack, anchored by Deepti Sharma’s 5 for 39 and impactful bowling from Shafali Verma, secured the historic World Cup title. While the nation revels in this momentous achievement, official celebrations await final confirmation from the BCCI.
