The ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan has worsened with the alleged killing of two more Baloch civilians by Pakistani forces. These incidents are part of a documented surge in extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, and torture, according to human rights monitors.
Paank, the human rights department of the Baloch National Movement, has brought attention to the latest cases. Hamza Baloch, a laborer from the Khuzdar district, was reportedly abducted by a Pakistan-backed death squad on October 29 and subsequently transferred to the Pakistani army. His body, found riddled with bullets on Monday in Awaran district, was discovered after five days of alleged illegal detention.
Another grave incident involved Bahad Baloch, a resident of Kech district, who was allegedly brutally killed by members of Pakistan-backed death squads. His body was found on November 1 and subsequently moved to Turbat Civil Hospital. Reports suggest the attackers robbed him before murdering him, then attempted to disguise the killing as a suicide by placing a rope around his neck. Paank is demanding justice and accountability for these alleged war crimes and is calling for international bodies to stop funding Pakistan, claiming these funds facilitate ongoing abuses in Balochistan.
Adding to the pattern of repression, Asif Hasil, a fisherman from Gwadar, was reportedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistan’s CTD and intelligence personnel on Monday evening. This occurred after an intrusive midnight raid on his home, where his family’s mobile phones were seized. Paank asserts that these actions are causing widespread trauma within the Baloch community and is appealing for urgent international intervention to hold the Pakistani state responsible for its continuous human rights violations.
