The incident, which occurred around 5:15 p.m. local time, involved UPS Flight 2976, destined for Honolulu. A large fire erupted at the crash site near Fern Valley and Grade Lane, where emergency responders from multiple agencies were quickly deployed. Authorities have indicated that three crew members were on board the aircraft, and it is feared they have all been lost in the tragedy. Governor Andy Beshear of Kentucky confirmed the severity of the situation, emphasizing that no hazardous materials were carried on the flight, and requested prayers for the victims and their loved ones. The U.S. Transportation Secretary described the scene as ‘heartbreaking’ and announced that both the FAA and the NTSB are launching an immediate investigation.
