Kere features eight homestay facilities, while Deshdhekha attracts with rock climbing and folk dance-culture.

Raipur, November 7, 2025/ The Jashpur Jamburi, organized in the Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, has added a new dimension to tourism by combining local culture, nature, and adventure. This four-day event, organized by the district administration from November 6 to 9, is providing tourists from across the country a vivid experience of Jashpur’s beautiful valleys, folk culture, and hospitality.

Eight homestay facilities have been made available for tourists in the village of Kere, where guests are being provided with all necessary amenities. This initiative by the administration has given a new direction to rural tourism and has also provided an opportunity for economic empowerment to local families.

Tourists staying in homestays are not just guests but are living as members of local families. They are experiencing Jashpur’s lifestyle, cuisine, and traditions up close. Tourists said, “Staying in a homestay is a much better experience than staying in a hotel. The simplicity, warmth, and home-cooked food here have won our hearts.”

This concept of homestays provides a direct connection to local life. Here, tourists not only understand the local culture and language while staying in a homely environment but also get to taste traditional Chhattisgarhi delicacies. This model is more economical than hotels and also offers a personal and familial environment.

Like many states in India – Himachal, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Sikkim, and Assam – Chhattisgarh has now entered a new era of homestay-based rural tourism. Jashpur’s hills and greenery make this concept even more attractive.

The Jashpur Jamburi also had a special attraction for adventure lovers. In the Deshdhekha area, approximately 120 tourists had an exciting rock climbing experience, which was conducted with full safety and under the supervision of experts. Tourists are enjoying both adventure and peace amidst the lush green valleys.

On the first day, registered tourists were served food in traditional Jashpur style using leaf plates (dona-pattal). After a day full of activities, tourists were seen dancing with folk artists in the evening. The moonlit night and the melodies of music made the atmosphere festive.

A special feature of the Jashpur Jamburi was the star-gazing session, where tourists experienced the amazing beauty of nature while gazing at the stars under the open sky. The songs, dances of folk artists, and the moonlight made the event unforgettable.

The robust arrangement of accommodation, food, security, and cultural programs by the district administration has made Jashpur Jamburi an ideal rural tourism festival. This event has not only boosted the local economy but has also given Jashpur a new identity on the national tourism map as a “confluence of nature, culture, and adventure.”
