Shreyas Iyer, a key player in India’s middle order, has announced he is recovering well and is grateful for the support shown during his rehabilitation. “Sun’s been a great therapy. Grateful to be back, Thanks for all the love and care,” Iyer posted, sharing his positive outlook. His recovery follows a significant injury – a spleen laceration and internal bleeding – which occurred during the ODI series in Australia on October 25. The incident happened while Iyer was attempting a catch at the Sydney Cricket Ground, leading to immediate hospitalization and surgery. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had previously indicated that Iyer was doing well and had been discharged from a Sydney hospital, with his progress satisfying medical professionals. Iyer has been in Sydney for continued medical consultations and is reportedly preparing to return to India soon. A lengthy period of at least several months is expected for him to fully recover and achieve the necessary match fitness for competitive cricket.
