Graphic new CCTV footage has emerged, capturing the precise moment a car packed with explosives detonated near Delhi’s historic Red Fort on Monday, November 10. The blast occurred at approximately 6:50 pm on Netaji Subhash Marg, a bustling area, killing 12 people and injuring many more. The incident immediately triggered widespread panic among pedestrians and commuters.
The Indian government has denounced the explosion as a “heinous terror act” and has tasked investigative bodies with pursuing the case with maximum urgency and expertise. In a strong statement, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reiterated India’s firm commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of terrorism. The cabinet stressed the need for a rapid and professional investigation to ensure swift justice for all those involved.
Preliminary investigation results suggest a connection to an extremist cell previously busted by security forces in Faridabad. This network is reportedly linked to the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and individuals affiliated with Al-Falah University in Haryana. Investigators theorize that the attack might have been a retaliatory or panicked response following a series of security raids. Attention has turned to Dr. Umar Nabi, a doctor from Pulwama working at Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad, who is suspected of operating the Hyundai i20 used in the bombing. It’s also believed that recent security actions may have thwarted a larger, synchronized terror plot aimed at India.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is now spearheading the inquiry into the Red Fort bombing. The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) convened prior to the Union Cabinet meeting to deliberate on the situation. The blast’s devastating impact included numerous fatalities, severe injuries, and collateral damage to nearby vehicles.
