Passengers aboard Air India flight AI188 from Toronto to Delhi experienced a scare on Thursday after the flight received a bomb threat. The flight ultimately landed safely at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Delhi Police confirmed they received a notification about a potential bomb threat targeting the flight early in the morning. Consequently, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) at Delhi airport was swiftly activated to assess the nature and seriousness of the threat. Initial evaluations by officials deemed the threat to be ‘non-specific.’ An Air India spokesperson issued a statement confirming the security alert and assuring that the flight’s journey concluded safely. The spokesperson highlighted the crew’s adherence to all security protocols and their focus on passenger well-being. The aircraft is currently undergoing comprehensive security checks at the airport as per protocol. The airline affirmed that the safety and security of all on board were never compromised.
