This email reportedly asked if Russian President Vladimir Putin had obtained images of Trump engaged in a sexual act, referring to the former president by the nickname ‘Bubba’. The interpretation of ‘Bubba’ as a reference to Bill Clinton by many X users is linked to his well-established nickname, although the email’s original meaning is not entirely clear. The term ‘Bubba’ can signify an elder brother, a term of affection, or in certain Southern U.S. dialects, be used disparagingly for a white man of lower social standing, reflecting Clinton’s Southern upbringing.
