Speaking to a gathering of young leaders in Guwahati, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat implored them to observe the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh closely and develop their own perspectives without succumbing to biased narratives or prejudices. Bhagwat elaborated on the Sangh’s core tenets and operational strategies, addressing common perceptions about the organization. He drew attention to India’s cultural heritage, which values the coexistence of diverse ways of life, warning that the erosion of diversity can diminish cultural identity, referencing the linguistic shift among Punjabi and Sindhi communities in Pakistan. Bhagwat identified Hindu society as the primary custodian of diversity and declared that cultivating such a society is a key aspiration of the RSS. He also made a case for character development as the most effective means to combat corruption, arguing that laws alone are insufficient. Similarly, he noted that cow protection requires widespread societal consciousness to be truly successful. On the international stage, Bhagwat championed an ‘India First’ foreign policy, advocating for a pragmatic approach driven by national interests, rather than alignment with or opposition to countries like the US or China. He concluded by asserting that a robust and self-reliant India is a boon to global welfare, capable of resolving international conflicts and contributing to a more stable global environment.
