New Delhi is preparing for an unprecedented security deployment for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit from December 4-5. A team of nearly 50 Russian security officers has arrived ahead of schedule, conducting exhaustive security sweeps of all potential locations. This highly sensitive operation is operating under a cloak of “secret cover,” as described by sources involved in the preparations. The moment Putin’s aircraft touches down, the outer security ring will be immediately secured by NSG commandos. Subsequent layers of protection will be managed by the Special Protection Group (SPG), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), and Delhi Police personnel. The security measures extend to advanced technology, including jammers, artificial intelligence monitoring, route sanitization units, and anti-sniper squads. The hotel selected for the president’s accommodation has undergone a complete security sanitization and will be under constant surveillance. Special arrangements have been made for the delegation accompanying him. The advance team of 50 Russian officers has been actively surveying all locations on Putin’s tentative schedule and any potential last-minute changes, with only a select number of India’s top security officials liaising directly with Putin’s close protection team. Putin’s travel entourage typically consists of around 100 security officers, and his specially designed armored Aurus Senat limousine will also be brought to India. His security strategy often involves undercover operatives who blend into the local environment before his arrival, feeding intelligence back to Moscow. A notable aspect of his security is a portable laboratory that tests every food item served to him. Additionally, he reportedly travels with a portable toilet, a practice believed to be a stringent national security measure to prevent the leakage of any biological information. Delhi’s security apparatus is fully mobilized, working in tight coordination with Russian personnel to ensure one of the most secure visits the capital has ever witnessed.
