The Jharkhand Assembly’s proceedings were severely impacted on Monday when opposition members boycotted the Zero Hour to protest the alleged non-payment of student scholarships. The supplementary budget, amounting to Rs 7,721 crore, was presented by Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore. However, the presentation was overshadowed by the opposition’s aggressive demonstrations, including slogan shouting and forceful gestures on the assembly floor. Speaker Rabindranath Mahto’s appeals for a structured discussion during the Zero Hour were ignored. The opposition’s persistent protest led to the adjournment of the house until the following day.
