Palamu’s infrastructure development and mining sector received focused attention during a high-level review meeting on Monday, led by Deputy Commissioner Samira S. The meeting assessed the progress of significant road projects, including National Highway 75, the ongoing four-lane construction, and related engineering components like RoW and RoB. The DC systematically reviewed the land acquisition and compensation payment mechanisms for National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects, paying close attention to award numbers, the status of issued and pending Land Possession Certificates (LPCs), and the overall disbursement of funds. The DC also stressed the need for regulatory compliance in Land Acquisition (LA) court-related matters. She directed officials to ensure continuous dialogue between Circle Officers (COs) and Land Acquisition Officers (LAOs) and to be proactive in resolving landholder complaints. The review identified that some project delays stemmed from agencies, and the DC emphasized the necessity for these entities to streamline their documentation and processes. In parallel, DC Samira S convened a meeting with representatives of the coal mines operating in Palamu to address their issues. Grievances lodged at the local and district administrative levels were discussed, and immediate consultations were held with the concerned Circle Officers. Trimumula Mines was instructed to resolve its pending land schedule issues within a ten-day timeframe, with the Circle Officer mandated to offer full support. The mining representatives also brought up the need for NOCs for explosives and discussed the NOC status for GM Jayceeland. The DC concluded by stating that efficient coal mine operations are fundamental to Palamu’s progress and called for a united, team-oriented approach from all involved parties.
