The political landscape of Barkagaon is buzzing with controversy surrounding a Rs 12 lakh NTPC tender, allegedly for MLA Roshanlal Chaudhary’s residence. Former MLA Amba Prasad has directly confronted Chaudhary, leveling serious allegations of prioritizing personal gain and corporate interests over public welfare. Prasad, speaking at a press conference, detailed the severe challenges confronting the Barkagaon region, including widespread displacement by mining operations, denial of local employment, ongoing issues with cut-off dates, and a high rate of fatal road accidents. She asserted that the current MLA is failing to address these pressing concerns and is instead collaborating with and benefiting from mining companies. Prasad further alleged that Chaudhary has been unable to introduce any new development plans in his first year, instead presenting old projects as new, which she described as a ‘deception of the public.’ She declared that Barkagaon’s development has come to a standstill.
