The Chief Minister briefed the Australian High Commissioner on the state’s resources and investment policies available in Jharkhand. He also discussed his commitment to transition from a labor-based economy to a knowledge-based economy, assuring cooperation and joint progress.
A discussion also took place on mining safety and the development of tribal communities.
The Australian High Commissioner, Mr. Philip Green, invited the Chief Minister to visit Australia. He said that Jharkhand has many similarities with Australia regarding mining. He informed the Chief Minister about the techniques used in Australia for mining safety and secure mining.
The Chief Minister praised Australia’s policy to develop land after mining and return it to the local community. He emphasized that a similar policy should exist for mining. The policy exists here as well, but public sector undertakings are not following it properly. The Australian Government’s policy to protect local people’s interests in mining and safety is exemplary. He also mentioned that there is a large tribal community population in Jharkhand as well in Australia. He provided information on what work is being done in Australia for their development.
