Dhanbad district is now actively engaged in paddy procurement, providing farmers with a substantial Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2450 per quintal. This program aims to secure the livelihoods of farmers by ensuring profitable returns on their paddy cultivation. The district has set up 18 procurement centers to streamline the process and reach farmers effectively. The launch events were attended by various political and administrative figures. MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto inaugurated the Tundi center, MLA Raj Sinha the Dhanbad center, and MLA Shatrughan Mahto the Baghmara center. District Supply Officer Pankaj Kumar reassured the farming community about the financial aspect, stating that full payments would be processed within 48 hours. The network of procurement centers includes PACS in Govindpur, Topchanchi, Baliapur, Dhanbad, Tundi, East Tundi, Baghmara, Nirsa, Angarpathra, and Kalaiyashol blocks, making it convenient for farmers to sell their produce. The collaborative effort between the administration and farmers promises a successful procurement season.
