The Election Commission has released the draft electoral rolls for Chhattisgarh after conducting a Special Intensive Revision (SIR), which has led to the removal of over 27 lakh names. This rigorous revision process aims to purify the voter list by ensuring only eligible individuals remain, upholding transparency at every step. The SIR saw a strong response, with more than 1.84 crore electors submitting their enumeration forms. The deletions were categorized into deceased voters (6.42 lakh), electors who had moved or were absent (19.13 lakh), and duplicate entries (1.79 lakh). This extensive operation was facilitated by a collaborative effort involving district electoral officers, registration staff, dedicated volunteers, and the engagement of political parties. Citizens are advised to check their inclusion in the newly released draft electoral rolls. Access the rolls via the Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer’s official website or the ECI’s national portal, using your EPIC number or other personal search criteria.
