Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful message to India’s startup community: leverage AI to revolutionize lives, not just businesses. At a recent tech conclave, he challenged innovators to think beyond algorithms and focus on human impact. Modi outlined AI’s role in solving India’s unique problems—traffic chaos via predictive analytics, water scarcity through smart irrigation, and unemployment with skill-matching platforms.
‘AI must be India’s new Amrit,’ he stated, blending tradition with technology. To support this, the government has allocated over Rs 10,000 crore for the India AI Mission to fund research and social applications. The startup ecosystem, valued at $450 billion, is primed for this leap, focusing on making AI inclusive by supporting vernacular languages.
