Rewari’s law enforcers scripted another success story in their fight against crime with a midnight showdown that felled two bounty-listed thugs. The operation, executed flawlessly by a joint team of local and district police, ended with the criminals’ surrender amid injuries from retaliatory fire.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing rapid gunshots echoing from the fields near Jatusana around 10:45 PM. The trigger was a tip-off about two armed men scouting potential targets in the area’s factories. When intercepted at a barricade, the suspects—Rakesh and Balbir, wanted for chain-snatching and extortion—chose confrontation over compliance.
A brief but intense gunfight ensued, with police exercising restraint by targeting lower limbs. The pair’s scooter overturned during the melee, aiding their quick roundup. Besides weapons and ammo, police seized a laptop containing robbery blueprints and Rs 1.5 lakhs in unaccounted money.
SP Rewari attributed the victory to enhanced intelligence networks and rigorous patrolling. ‘Such proactive measures will deter criminals from viewing Haryana as a safe haven,’ he stated. The injured accused, stable after surgery, are slated for remand to unravel their accomplices.
This encounter reinforces Rewari’s reputation as a no-go zone for outlaws, boosting public confidence in the police machinery. With crime rates dipping 20% year-on-year, authorities vow to sustain the momentum against organized gangs.
