Raipur, January 11, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the Gaura Puja Festival and Baiga Pujari Conference organized at Maharishi Valmiki Ashram, ITI Rampur, in Korba district. Offering his best wishes for the Gaura-Gauri Puja and the Baiga Pujari conference, he stated that the tribal society has its own glorious history, distinct culture, and rich traditions. The Baiga and Pujari communities continue to play a vital role in preserving these traditions. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced that the road from ITI Chowk to Balco Road would be named ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Path’ and that statues of tribal icons would be installed at the starting point of this route. Chief Minister Shri Sai mentioned that the former Prime Minister of the country, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, created the state of Chhattisgarh so that the tribal community, which forms the majority of the population here, could be integrated into the mainstream of development. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to enhance the respect and honor of the tribal society, declared November 15, the birth anniversary of martyr Birsa Munda, as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ and launched the ‘Dharti Aaba Utkarsh Yojana’. Along with this, work is being done to bring specially backward tribes into the fold of development through the PM JANMAN scheme. Chief Minister Shri Sai said it is a matter of pride that today a daughter of tribal society, President Smt. Droupadi Murmu, occupies the highest constitutional post of the country, and the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh is also a son of the tribal society coming from a simple farming family. Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that a provision of 80,000 crore rupees has been made for the ‘Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Yojana’ and 24,000 crore rupees for the PM JANMAN scheme, benefiting 6,691 villages in Chhattisgarh. He said special efforts are being made for the upliftment of PVTG communities including Pahari Korwa and Birhor. Road, health, education, and other basic facilities are rapidly expanding in tribal areas. For this, authorities have been formed in the state to give more speed to development works in tribal and backward areas. Referring to his own life, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that after completing his studies, he himself worked as a worker in the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. He said that tribal society has been worshipers of Shiva-Parvati in the form of Lord Gaura-Gauri since ancient times. He mentioned that to make the contributions of great personalities of tribal society memorable, preserve their memories, and provide information to the new generation, a massive digital tribal museum has been established in Nava Raipur, which pictorially describes the life stories of these great men. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that to encourage the preservation of tribal culture and traditions, an honorarium of 5,000 rupees is being provided annually to Baiga, Guniya, and Sirha. Additionally, ‘Sarna’ sites will be protected, which will not only preserve cultural heritage but also prove to be a significant step toward economic empowerment. Addressing the conference, Industry Minister Shri Lakhanlal Dewangan said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is moving forward with the goal of a Developed India; similarly, work is rapidly progressing toward a Developed Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. He mentioned that there are many ancient sites of deities in the district, which are being developed under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Sai to give them a new identity through tourism. Katghora MLA Shri Premchand Patel and Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram officials Shri Panatram Bhagat and Shri Birbal Singh also addressed the gathering. On this occasion, Mayor Smt. Sanju Devi Rajput, former minister Shri Nanki Ram Kanwar, officials of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, public representatives, and a large number of dignitaries were present.
