Infected animals exhibit rapid deterioration, loss of appetite, and collapse, often wiping out entire farms overnight. Financially, the toll is immense, accounting for culled pigs, veterinary interventions, and evaporated market revenues. Pig rearing, integral to Mizo culture and economy, now hangs by a thread, with supply chains disrupted and prices surging across local markets.
